Chevrolet Miray concept

General Motors Korea has unveiled Chevrolet Miray concept at the 2011 Seoul Motor Show.
Miray is powered by two front-mounted electric motors with 20PS (15 kW) of power each coupled with a 1.5 liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine mounted mid-rear which drives the rear wheels. The battery pack is lithium-ion and has a capacity of 1.6 kWh. It can be recharged through regenerative braking. The engine is mated to a dual-clutch gearbox.
Miray can go only on electricity, but Chevrolet didn’t provide any information about the range or performance characteristics.
Chevrolet Miray stands on enormous 20” wheels at the front and 21” at the rear. The sports car features future design, but it is inspired by the 1963 Monza SS and the 1962 Corvair Super Spyder.  However, the car looks really gorgeous.
The interior includes start button, ambient lighting and dual-cockpit design for both the driver and passenger area.
Stay tuned for more information!

Hyundai Blue2 fuel cell concept brings 'Intersected Flow' design to Seoul

Hyundai is revealing its new Blue2 fuel-cell concept car at this week's Seoul Motor Show – a vehicle that the automaker hopes will help it gain "early leadership of the FCEV market." Does this mean that a production version of the Blue2 (pronounced: "Blue square") is on its way? It's hard to say right now, but if Hyundai does bring some sort of fuel-cell vehicle to market, we hope it looks a lot like this stunning concept.

The Korean automaker calls the Blue2's exterior design philosophy 'Intersected Flow,' incorporating both innovative and dynamic design elements. Will Intersected Flow's tenets replace Fluidic Sculpture as the surface language of choice at Hyundai? We're not sure, but we like the wraparound-style greenhouse combined with a flat, slightly slanted roof (Saab 9-5, anyone?), and we're surprisingly fond of the glossy black strip that runs from the bottom of the C-pillar all the way back to the bottom of the front wheel well. Hyundai has executed some exceptional production designs as of late, but this is the first concept that we've fallen for from the brand in some time. Notice the LED screen panels at the front and rear – they display messages about the vehicle's condition. Like many new concepts, conventional door mirrors have been replaced with cameras, and the car even features a welcome system that recognizes the driver and automatically opens the door.

The big news for the Blue2 is its hydrogen fuel-cell powertrain, which delivers a stack power of about 120 horsepower and will return about 34.9 kilometers per liter – that's 82.1 miles per gallon when converted to the U.S. cycle. The Blue2 is fitted with low-rolling-resistance tires and uses an extremely aerodynamic shape in an effort to reduce drag to aid overall efficiency.

Things are just as high-tech inside the cabin, where the Blue2 uses a combined center cluster and fascia, using an organic LED monitor and ultra-light tempered glass to display vital information. There are even seat-mounted entertainment holders that house things like Apple iPad tablets and other tablet devises, as well.

Follow the jump for Hyundai's official release, and be sure to see the shapely concept for yourself in the high-res image gallery below.

Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG gets the Wimmer treatment

Regardless of any meddling from the aftermarket, the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG is quite a handful in its stock form. That said, Wimmer hasn't exactly built a reputation for leaving well enough alone, and has now applied its expertise to the C63 AMG. The results are ludicrous.

Wimmer reworked the heads, added more aggressive camshafts, a bigger down pipe, high-flow catalytic converters, air intake and added a full stainless steel exhaust to the car's 6.2-liter V8. After all was said and done, the C63 pushed out 601 horsepower and 531 pound-feet of torque. Wimmer has also removed the top speed limiter, which means the car will hit 203 miles per hour.

The car gets 8.5-by-19-inch BBS CH-R wheels up front and 9.5-by-19-inchers out back, wrapped in Dunlop tires. Keeping those huge meats planted is a fully customized suspension developed in-house by Wimmer.

The mod list to the C63 is impressive, and the work doesn't come cheap. The engine work alone in the Wimmer C63 AMG rings the register at €19,900 – about $28,000 USD based on current conversion rates. Add another €3,600 ($5,000) to include the suspension in the performance package.

12 things you need to know about the killer 'Pagani Huayra roadster'

Pagani has been famous for its flamboyant styling and always manages to grab everyone’s attention. This Italian mean machine maker has made the fans go crazy with its much celebrated Zonda and a few more variants that come with all the uniqueness attached. Pagani is out with its latest model named Huayra which was showcased recently. Below are a few things that you should know about Pagani Huayra, if you love to keep yourself updated about the brand.

1) Pagani’s Huayra will have 6.0-liter bi-turbo V12 engine borrowed from AMG. This powerful engine will endow the vehicle with more than 690 hp (700 PS / 515 kW) and 1000 lb.-ft (737 Nm).
2) Huayra has been named after an ancient Andean god of wind. This sexy looking car is a work of art in itself. If one closely looks at the designing and the engineering part, they will realize what makes the car so special and wanted. A lot of effort has gone in the making of Huayra, which has been meticulously put together in Modena, Italy at its boutique factory.
3) Pagani swears to provide all comforts once you step inside the car. The steering wheel has been wedged with all the key functions, hence taking the driving experience to an all new level. Offering utmost comfort are the seats of the car which will make even long journeys much more pleasurable as you won’t feel uncomfortably tired. Apart from all this, when g-forces build up on extreme driving, it will also lend lateral support and make the trip more delightful.
4) Though it is anticipated that Pagani will come out with an entry-level model, but as of now such reports have not been confirmed in terms of production.
5) Don’t expect this version to be on the lighter side in terms of weight. Thanks to the chassis that have got some additional strengthening and also the body needed by the detached top, Huayra will join the other roadsters in terms of weight.
6) Going by the official figures we can see that Pagani Huayra will have a top speed of 370 km/h. Only 3.3 seconds will be required to speed up from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h). But it is being assumed that of the roadster is pumped with the same amount of power as the coupe; possibilities are that we will see a drop in the performance level.
7) Just to deal with the additional weight Pagani may consider boosting the output of the Huayra Roadster engine.
8) The 60 degree 12 cylinder turbocharged engine with a displacement of 5980 cubic centimeters will provide some more fractions of power. Stirring up a 700 horsepower at a low 5,000 rpm will be the twin-turbocharged unit developed by AMG. At 3,500 rpm it will also give out a whopping 811 pound-feet of torque.
9) Rear-wheel drive configuration and single clutch seven-speed automated Xtrac gearbox will remain intact in the Huyara. The bodywork of the supercar comes with a pair of flaps both at the frontage and the back which are controlled by a computer. This computer just to produce optimal downforce supervises and adjusts lateral acceleration, monitor speed, throttle position, yaw and steering angle.
10) The Huayra is projected to come tagged with a price of $1.35 million. This awesome machine will get all the power to run from a 700 horsepower V12 engine which will be further clubbed to a seven-speed transmission.
11) The motor will be coupled with a single clutch transmission and in less than three seconds, it must push the new C9 to 60 miles per hour. Pagani may also cross the 220 mph mark.
12) An intercooler has been placed right over the cylinder head and with the two radiators present on the sides of the mouth at front superlative cooling efficiency can be expected. It is capable of functioning even at temperatures as high as 50 degree C.
