Lamborghini Girls And Huracán In México

It might seem a little late for Lamborghini to present its most recent production car, the Huracán, until now. Although the reason for such a delay wasn’t announced, the first LP610-4 badged cars have already made it to México and are being either prepared for delivery or enjoyed by customers already.

For the official presentation, Lamborghini de México gathered both the proud owners of the cars and some of their most appreciated customers to the Centro Dinámico Pegaso track, where they could drive their own cars and get to know them better, or test the demo Huracán in a controlled and safe environment. There’s not much more left to say about the car or the way it drives, when everything has already been said in our in depht review.

It is said that everyone had a great time during the day, even though it rained later on, which was no problem for the four wheel drive Lambos. Both Ferrari and Aston Martin were present, you might think that getting delivery of your 340 km/h Huracán is crazy enough, but there are some clients who decided to arrive in a Ferrari just to make things a tad more interesting.

Nonetheless it wasn’t the Huracán nor the 50° Anniversario Aventador that caught the eye of those who attended, but the utter beauty of the girls that represented the brand.

New Audi RS3 Likely to Produce 360hp

Further details about the next-generation Audi RS3 have emerged and the new car is set to be even more potent than the car which it replaces.

As a matter of fact, Quattro GmbH’s technical director Stephan Reil recently confirmed to Top Gear that the new RS3 will be more powerful, saying “The previous car produced 340bhp. We now have more power.”

While it remains unclear just how much power from the 2.5-litre turbocharged five-cylinder engine has been extracted, Top Gear believes that a figure around 360 hp is likely. Beyond an upgraded engine, a selection of other changes are afoot for the new RS3.

First of all, the company will fix a brake issue which plagued the outgoing RS3 while also offering an optional sports exhaust system for the car. Additionally, thanks to its use of Audi’s new MQB platform, the new RS3 will weigh 55 kg less than before with a new rear differential also set to underpin the updated Haldex all-wheel drive system.

Thanks to this new drive system, the new Audi RS3 will be far more prone to oversteer than understeer like it once was.

Further changes include a new steering-hub assembly, different dampers/shocks from Sachs alongside new brakes and beefed up calipers, a different power-steering setup and revised DSG transmission.

Toyota Confirms Second-Generation GT86

Toyota has confirmed that a second-generation variant of the GT86 rear-wheel drive sports car is indeed in the works despite sales of the car falling quite significantly this year.

The news comes courtesy of Motoring who recently spoke with Toyota’s European executive vice president Karl Schlicht.

Discussing the GT86, Schlicht said, “The GT 86 as you know has been enthusiastically received by the motoring press, but the market’s not huge around the world for those kind of cars and they also have a bit of a lifecycle. So as a business it’s tougher to justify.

“But we are pretty serious about keeping the GT 86 pure and keeping a car like that in our line-up. Because in the past we dropped cars like the Celicas and fun cars, and we don’t want to lose that again. It hurts the image over time. We want to keep some fun cars in our line-up,” he said.

When quizzed about a second generation of the car, Schlicht said “It’s down the road”

Interestingly, Schlicht didn’t reveal whether or not Subaru would play a role in the creation of the next-gen GT86. As a result, the Subaru BRZ’s future is not yet sealed.

Rare Koenigsegg CCXR For Sale in Miami

With just a handful of Koenigsegg CCXR examples produced, the car is one of the rarest models produced by the Swedish hypercar manufacturer. Now one of those four cars is up for sale in the United States courtesy of Prestige Imports in Miami Beach, Florida.

This particular 2009 Koenigsegg CCXR features a gloss black body alongside a host of red exterior accents and some small carbon fibre parts like the insides of the headlights. It has travelled a mere 1247 miles and is relatively untouched as a result. Because of this, the bright red interior looks brand new. The asking price? Just under $1.2 million.

Under the hood, the Koenigsegg CCXR features a 4.8-litre twin-supercharged V8 engine producing 1004 hp at 7000 rpm and hits 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and a claimed top speed above 400 km/h! It can run on E85 Ethanol, E100 Ethanol and 98 Octane fuel.

2014 Lamborghini Aventador Carbonado GT By Mansory

Mansory sure wasn’t kidding when it described its Carbonado GT program for the Lamborghini Aventador as an overdose in carbon fiber.

To be more specific, the Swiss tuner used a carbon-fiber weave with a stealth look, which apparently is what it uses exclusively in a lot of its programs. That should be cause for confusion for those not privy to such technological marvel, but its all in a days work for Mansory.

In a lot of ways, the Swiss tuner has made a living out of these fanciful programs. Some of these projects have been knocked out of the park, while some have been complete whiffs. That said, the roster that Mansory has brought to Geneva , specifically the Carbonado GT, has been a showcase on why the company is considered one of the most exclusive aftermarket tuners in the business.

For better or for worse, Mansory wants to overwhelm even the most hardened of skeptics. And with the Carbonado GT program for the Lamborghini Aventador, and that’s precisely what it accomplished.

It’s hard not to be impressed with the detail that went into making this program. For one, the aerodynamic design is about as overwhelming as it can get. But far more than just serving as aesthetic add-ons, these components come with purpose. Take for example the new front skirt with optimized air intakes; far more than just eye candy because it improves ventilation of the front radiator and when you combine it with the new front lip spoiler and those new daytime running lights, you’re treated a distinctive front look for the already menacing Aventador.

The front wing of the supercar is also new, as are the new side skirts, which feed more cooling air into the drive unit and the rear brakes. Likewise, a new rear spoiler was also added, stabilizing the back end of the Lambo at high speeds while also creating surface contact pressure together with the enlarged rear wing on the rear axle.

And finally, let’s not forget about the new set of wheels. For this program, Mansory opted to use a new set of 20- and 21-inch ultralight striking forged rims with carbon-fiber inlays wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires.

The interior detail of the Carbonado GT program doesn’t come with the same level of exhaustive detail Mansory gave to the exterior. But then again, you can’t go wrong with the soft leather on the seats and the dashboard. Non-slip aluminum pedals and genuine carbon-fiber components were also used, specifically on the doors, the fittings and the center console. But the most distinctive part of the interior upgrade is the relocation of the starter button, which Mansory decided to put on the roof lining instead of its usual spot on the center console.

Under the hood of this Aventador lies a modified version of the Lamborghini’s 6.5-liter, V-12 engine. We say modified because Mansory slapped a pair of turbochargers on it and replaced a bevy of parts, including the pistons, connecting rods, rod bearings, crankshaft, crank and cylinder heads. All those changes resulted in the Aventador developing a mind-bending 1,600 horsepower and 885 pound-feet of torque — an increase of 900 horsepower and 210 pound-feet of torque — allowing the car to hit 62 mph in just 2.1 seconds to go with a top speed of 230 mph.

2014 Rolls-Royce Wraith By Mansory

This year, a handful of new programs have been made courtesy of Switzerland’s finest, and one of those happens to be Rolls-Royce’s brand-spankin’ new baby, the Wraith .

Jaw-dropping as some of Mansory’s previous works are, there’s something alluring about its program for the Wraith.

It’s pretty...subdued. In a very good idea.

The tuner probably realized that going bombastic on the Wraith will just drive away the luxury car’s classy nature so smart move on the part of Mansory to recognize that. In the end, it did the right thing by giving the Wraith the kind of unique modification that brings up its level of appeal yet does so without compromising its luxurious quality.

Rolls-Royce Wraith by Mansory in Detail

Like with most of its projects, Mansory doesn’t settle for mundane; it goes all out in such a way that sometimes borders on excessive. Fortunately, that’s not the case with its program for the Wraith, which is pleasantly subdued - to a certain extent.

A two-tone chrome and petrol blue exterior paint scheme is the first thing you’ll notice but it also isn’t the last. Believe it or not, there’s also a carbon-fiber aerodynamic kit in there, complete with a redesigned front apron that comes integrated with LED daytime running lights. Updated front wings are also there for aesthetic and aerodynamic purposes, as are the new side skirts, the rear spoiler, and the roof spoiler. And like any tuner worth its salt, Mansory also gave the Wraith a new set of 22-inch ultra-light forged alloy wheels wrapped around in 265/35 Vredestein tires.

This is the kind of interior dress-up that makes eating inside the Wraith such a bad idea. Mansory didn’t dive into the specifics of the upgrades on the cabin, other than to say that its a two-color leather upholstery treatment featuring the same petrol blue color of the body contrasted with hints of beige. Likewise, a few carbon refinements were sprinkled in to evoke the feeling of luxury that the tuner prides itself on.

More than just the overwhelming aesthetic changes on the Wraith, Mansory also fitted the luxury car with a power-packed 6.6-liter, twin-turbo V-12 engine that produces 740 horsepower and 737 pound-feet of torque, a walloping increase of 108 ponies and 147 pound-feet of torque from the standard version. What that means is that the Wraith can now hit 62 mph in 4.4 seconds before hitting a top speed of 186 mph.
