Sneak peek at facelifted 2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG

Mercedes Benz’s surprise mania is on. Last week we had the glimpse of facelifted 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, but now here are two images posted by Evo-Cars of the facelifted 2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG. Two images – of interior and exterior – say much about except power, pricing and performance what the forthcoming facelifted C63 AMG is to offer.

It remains to be seen whether Mercedes will replace current 6.2-liter V8 in C63 AMG with new twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter mill. The C63 AMG if will get power, as reported by Evo-Cars, from 5.5 unit; it’s expected to remain in the 550hp range which is 100hp more than the previous engine.
Torque would be fantastically flat thanks to the forced induction at about 590 pound-feet. The sprint from 0-60mph is expected to be achieved in mid four second range with its top speed touching 186mph. However, these are merely speculations; the real picture will only emerge after the official word on the vehicle.

Ferrari is coming to Geneva with 612 Scaglietti successor

Ferrari is heading to the 2011 Geneva Motor show with a bang. It is confirmed by Ferrari boss Luca de Montezemolo that brand will have something different for the show. He was quoted as saying, “You will see at Geneva a very different new Ferrari that proves we are adapting to a changing world. But with this statement the speculations emerge that it will be 2012 612 Scaglietti successor and will feature Italian supercar maker’s HY-KERS hybrid system which debuted at the 2010 show in Geneva earlier this year in the 599 HY-KERS concept.
Power is expected to be provided by a 6.0liter V12 engine that generates a massive 533hp and 434 Lb-ft of torque. Engine is to be mated to an F1-derived 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Supporting the V12 is an electric motor that adds 100 additional mules to the racer. The electric motor not only takes the power tally to 633hp, but reduces the successor’s fuel consumption by 35% on one hand and ensures that successor’s CO2 emissions doesn’t go beyond 280 grams of per kilometer on the other.

Senkyr introduces E82 1 series coupe based BMW 1 series GTR

You might be remembering BMW M3 E92 GTR introduced by Senkyr Motorsports last year. This time, the Czech Motorsport has come up with their latest edition, Senkyr BMW 1 Series Coupe GTR. The roadster is based on the E82 1 series coupe chassis and is modified to a similar aesthetic treatment as their E92 M3 GTR.
The modifications are noticeable in the form of vented hood helping to extract hot air out of the engine bay, super aggressive front bumper featuring quad canards, wide fenders, a front mount intercooler to cool the charged air sucked in by the twin turbos and headlights are replaced by a lighter and simplified unit to make it as easy to remove and replace as possible. The parts that resembles to its predecessor include side mirrors, over sized rear bumper and wide fenders. Under the hood, there is a six-in-line 408hp engine and adding more to its sporty looks is a set of BBS Motorsport Race wheels measuring 18×10 in the front and 18×12 in the rear.

BD Motors add more aggression to Hummer H1

Walk away with your own VW Limo for a cool $45,000

Volkswagen is one of the mostly preferred donors for conversion. There have been hundreds of examples where auto nerds have used VW Beetle chassis for extreme conversions and 1999 Volkswagen Beetle limousine is one of those. Built in 2001, the VW Beetle limo is still remains the eye catcher. Flaunting the white exterior and grey leather interior with TV, minibar, mirrored roof and custom lighting, this Limo is currently owned by New Jersey’s Route 22 Limousines, offering you a chance to own this elongated little princess for a cool US$45,000.

The absolute stunner can accommodate six occupants at a time, but it might distract you a little as the lengthening and customizing might surely have reduced the performance of 2.0 liter four cylinder engine – obviously too small for a limo – mated to a 4 speed automatic transmission. However, keeping in mind the fact that it’s a Limo, it shouldn’t be necessarily fast until it belongs to a man of the highest order – the US president.

2011 NAIAS Preview: MINI Paceman concept

As NAIAS is round the corner, big brands revealing their vehicles ahead of their public viewing at the show is evident. So, another addition in many previewed vehicles ahead of the 2011 Detroit Auto Show is MINI Paceman concept. Designed to appeal to the youths who love to stand out from the masses, the model hints at a two door version of the four door Countryman that will hit the showrooms next year.

Featuring bold front fascia, sloping roofline and 19 inch alloy wheels, the Paceman concept will get power from John Cooper Works’ tuned 1.6 liter four cylinder engine hooked up to Mini’s ALL4 permanent four-wheel drive system. Engine generates 208 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque. The torque, however, can be increased to 207 lb-ft with Overboost function.
Mini Paceman has dimensions identical to that of Countryman crossover but a larger tailgate. In the interior, the four seat cabin has leather upholstery, a full-length center rail system and unique door panel trim. Though Paceman is merely a concept for the time being but MINI has hinted it could become “another building block in the ongoing development of the brand and its product portfolio.”

Corvette C5 Convertible, converted into something different, really different

There is absolutely no need to speak anything about the Chevrolet Corvette C5 Convertible as the sports car has already mesmerized masses with 344hp and 483 Nm or torque. 1994 Harley-Davidson Softail Evo relived as ‘Chimera’ trike

You might have seen many trikes in your day to day life but the one pictured above is surely going to steal the show away. Based on the 1994’s Harley-Davidson Softail Evo, the builder, Uwe Sickert, added and replaced many parts including TÜV-tested arm, VG axle, old wing was replaced with the new trike swing arm and alignment and mounting of the axle. Also, the differential has been striped and thereafter it was polished in white satin and chrome.

Christened as Chimera, the trike is equipped with Harley Davidson 1340 cc Dynajetkit engine mated to five speed transmission. Additionally, the pre-routed, revamped forward controls came from a BMW, an up-side-down fork from a Kawasaki and there is ultra-thin rubber to support the desired opulent appearance of the wheels, the high-strength, shatter-resistant and transparent acrylic bent fenders.
Apart from these, there is integrated instrument display at the front, Nissin, Revtech Eliminator rotor brakes at front and Brembo at the rear, LED turn signals at front and rear, LED brake and tail lights as well as 3.5 x 21 Revtech Eliminator wheel wrapped with Avon tires upfront and 10 x 20 Jesse James Lawless 8 Truck wheel clad in Vredestein tires at the rear. All these things together make it a complete package and an absolute head turner on the road.
