It was last week we heard about Ford bringing Cobra Jet back for another year in 2012. However, today Ford made it official by unveiling the car at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) show in Florida. Cobra Jet will be revised (it’s already upgraded in 2010) for 2012 and will feature 5.4 liter V8 from the SVT Mustang with two supercharger options, a 2.3 liter TVS unit or a 4.0 liter Ford Racing Whipple supercharger. Engine when, as per the insiders, paired to a 3-speed C4 Auto Race transmission will produce 430hp.
The other prominent features of the mustang include revised suspension, low-drag racing brakes, new black anodized wheels and a stickier set of Goodyear racing slicks. Ford Cobra Jet Mustang will be offered first time in three colors: race red, grabber blue and winner white. It will be a limited edition as only 50 copies of the 2012 Cobra Jet will be produced. Pricing for the 2012 model will start at $91,990 with a fully loaded Cobra Jet will cost $103,980.
